Cheek Cancer
Cheek cancer is a type of oral cancer that develops in the inner lining of the cheek (buccal mucosa). Early diagnosis and treatment by Dr. Satish C can improve treatment outcomes.
Common symptoms include a non-healing mouth ulcer, a lump inside the cheek, pain, bleeding, difficulty chewing, white or red patches, and difficulty opening the mouth.
People who chew tobacco or betel nut, smoke, consume excessive alcohol, or have poor oral hygiene are at a higher risk of developing cheek cancer.
You should consult Dr. Satish C if you have a mouth ulcer that does not heal within two weeks, persistent cheek pain, swelling, difficulty chewing, or any unusual growth inside the mouth.
Diagnosis may include a clinical examination, biopsy, CT scan, MRI scan, PET scan, and other tests to determine the stage and extent of the cancer.
