Parotid Surgery

Parotid surgery is a procedure to remove a tumor or diseased part of the parotid gland, the largest salivary gland located near the ear. Dr. Satish C performs parotid surgery for both benign and cancerous conditions.

Parotid surgery may be recommended if you have a parotid gland tumor, persistent swelling near the jaw or ear, recurrent infections, or when cancer is suspected.

Common symptoms include a painless lump near the ear or jaw, swelling, facial weakness, pain, numbness, or difficulty moving one side of the face.

Diagnosis may include a physical examination, ultrasound, CT scan, MRI scan, fine needle aspiration (FNAC), or biopsy to determine the nature of the tumor.
