Tongue cancer

Tongue cancer is a type of oral cancer that develops in the tissues of the tongue. Early diagnosis and treatment by Dr. Satish C can improve the chances of successful recovery.

Common early signs include a non-healing ulcer, a lump on the tongue, persistent pain, difficulty swallowing, white or red patches, and unexplained bleeding from the tongue.

People who use tobacco, chew betel nut, consume excessive alcohol, have HPV infection, or have poor oral hygiene are at a higher risk of developing tongue cancer.

You should consult Dr. Satish C if you have a mouth ulcer that does not heal within two weeks, persistent tongue pain, difficulty speaking or swallowing, or any unusual growth on the tongue.

Diagnosis may include a physical examination, biopsy, imaging tests such as CT or MRI scans, and other investigations to determine the stage of the cancer.
